Role Purpose
The Junior Information Security Analyst provides essential support to the Information Security team in the implementation of cybersecurity measures, awareness campaigns, and daily operational tasks. The role is integral to maintaining and enhancing the security posture of Dublin Bus through proactive threat management, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations and Support
- Provide administrative and technical support for the daily operations of the Information Security team.
- Assist in identifying and documenting security vulnerabilities across web, mobile, and cloud-based systems.
- Support the implementation of system hardening and network protection measures in collaboration with IT and other relevant teams.
Awareness and Training
- Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of security awareness initiatives for all staff.
- Assist in conducting phishing simulation exercises and analysing results to improve user resilience and engagement.
Compliance and Governance
- Adhere to all relevant Data Protection legislation and Dublin Bus information security policies.
- Support audit and compliance activities as required.
- Comply with internal procedures, including those related to quality, environment, energy use, sustainability, health and safety.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, Trade Unions, other Dublin Bus departments, CIÉ Group companies, and external agencies including the NTA and the Department of Transport.
Health & Safety
- Follow all health and safety procedures in accordance with the Safety Management System to ensure a safe working environment.

- Carry out additional duties as required and agreed with management, in line with the role’s scope and grade.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Strong interest in developing a career in cybersecurity.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles, vulnerabilities, and risk management.
Desirable
- Interest in pursuing professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar.
- Understanding of networking and system security fundamentals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with a collaborative approach to team work and problem-solving.
