The Medical Council is seeking a Finance Executive on a temporary basis from the period April - May at Executive Officer grade to assist the Finance Team in carrying out the Finance function in compliance with best practice and legislative requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in accounting and work with an experienced Finance Department, supporting the daily operations of the team. The accounting software used is SAP Business One.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Finance Operations Manager within the Finance Section on all matters pertaining to the Finance Function.
- Assist with processing of Purchase Orders and Goods Receipts Notes (GRNS).
- Follow up with other departments on outstanding documents not processed.
- Enter creditors invoices on purchases ledger system and to the correct nominal codes. This includes legal and non legal invoices.
- Assist in the preparation of Creditors Ledger reconciliations
- Prepare a supplier payment run in SAP.
- Ensure payments, amounts and records are accurate and correct
- Monitoring daily communications and answering any queries promptly
- Preparation of 891B Return.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Essential Criteria
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:
- A minimum qualification requirement is that the applicant holds a Leaving Certificate or equivalent educational training qualification.
- Proficient in MS Excel, and good knowledge of general suite of MS Office products.
Desirable Criteria
The following criteria are not mandatory but will be considered favorably:
- Experience in bookkeeping.
- Experience working with SAP System is preferable but not essential as training will be provided
- High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Completion of relevant reconciliations.
- Experience of collaborating with teams, either internally to Finance or with Operational Departments.
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Experience working to deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, communication and IT skills.
- Additional related qualifications are desirable but not essential.
Location:
The Medical Council’s offices are located at Kingram House, Kingram Place, Dublin 2. The Medical Council operates a hybrid working model with both remote working and a current requirement for on-site attendance two days per week. Please note for these positions that due to training, the successful candidates will be required to be onsite full time for the first 2 weeks then will revert to hybrid working arrangements.
