Role & Purpose

As a core member of the Risk Management function, you will play a proactive and influential role in ensuring that  safety, health and welfare  are embedded into every stage of project delivery across Dublin Bus.


You will:

  • Support the PMO and project management teams to place employee safety at the heart of all projects.
  • Ensure that premises, fleet and equipment meet all statutory and Dublin Bus safety requirements.
  • Represent the Safety & Security team in cross-functional projects.
  • Assist with accident investigations, preparing reports and recommending measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Support the Health & Safety Manager in promoting and implementing company-wide H&S policies.
  • Uphold all relevant Data Protection, Quality, Environmental, Energy, Sustainability, Health & Safety, and HR policies.
  • Build strong working relationships with employees, Trade Unions, internal departments, external stakeholders and CIÉ Group companies.


You’ll collaborate closely with:

  • PMO teams
  • Operations and Engineering teams across all depots
  • Dublin Bus Executive team
  • Internal and external stakeholders involved in project delivery


Areas of Responsibility


Safety

  • Ensure full implementation of the Dublin Bus Safety Management System (SMS) and compliance with all related legislation.
  • Support project managers in applying SMS requirements and delivering local Safety Action Plans.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure adherence to statutory safety standards.
  • Manage and update safety documentation alongside the Safety & Security Manager.
  • Attend project meetings, offering guidance on health, welfare and safety considerations.
  • Support the planning and delivery of project-related safety training and initiatives.


Investigation

  • Maintain and develop systems for recording and analysing all employee and third-party accidents.
  • Assist in investigating incidents and preparing detailed causation reports.
  • Conduct audits of safety processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement.


Communication and Information

  • Share safety information clearly and consistently in line with HR communication policies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive project environment that supports competence and personal development.
  • Provide day-to-day safety advice to supervisors and project teams.
  • Represent the department in cross-functional projects to ensure safety management is fully integrated.


General

  • Undertake any other duties relevant to the role as agreed with management.
